Nosehill Park North Side Forest in Summer

The explosive green vistas found on the north side of Nosehill park contain special moments like these where the path opens a bit. One of the wonderful things about aspen trees is the way grass runs up and around the trunks which, on older trees are blackened. Drawing scenes like this pushes me in two directions: 

• Wanting to capture the bombastic green explosion with the intensity and emotion I felt walking through it.  
• The desire to render every leaf.
