Sandarac Little League Sunset
Looking southwest from the Sandarac baseball diamonds, which sit just northeast of Nosehill park, I saw this bombastic sunset with a huge cloud formation. In silhouette a wall of trees and houses frame the end of a baseball practice. Fall baseball in little league has this relationship with the earlier nights, which provide a curtain call as practices get cut off. The mornings bring a different delay, as frost and cold temperatures creep into the Saturday and Sunday games, pushing them back. Baseball is already a game steeped in numbers and data - fall little league brings it's own set of data - the sun sets 231 seconds earlier each day, and it must be above 5 degrees to play ball.
