Carburn Park Gothic Tree

In the winter, some of the softwoods along the river take on a very Casper David Friedrich look to them. This one had a particularly impressive quality. Cross like from this angle, some earnest growths still diving out at the periphery. Like many of these end of life trees, I have to firm myself against the likelihood the time they have upright is limited. 

This is an 8 x 10 oil painting done on a primed canvas panel. I use Kama paint which is produced in Quebec and uses walnut oil.
