Nosehill Tree Assembly

Just west along the south ridge on the east side Nosehill is a small forest. Regularly in Nosehill, Fish creek, and other parks you'll see these bonfire-esque assemblies. They are made up of dead trees. This is a late winter scene. The grasses are matted, some snow remains. The trees here are showing their age, with blackened branches. 

This is an 8 x 10 oil painting done on a primed canvas panel. I use Kama paint which is produced in Quebec and uses walnut oil.
