The Bow and Elbow Confluence
Regular price
$360.00
The Blackfoot name for Calgary is Mohkinstsis, referring to the confluence where the Bow and the Elbow Rivers meet. From this vantage point, the south west corner, looking west and a little north, you get a a long view of the bow, and the Elbow coming in from the right. For a brief time in the spring, couch sized chunks of ice mix as they thaw. The sun can be so bright, and the silhouette of Mountie statue looks away from the river.
This is an 8 x 10 oil painting done on a primed canvas panel. I use Kama paint which is produced in Quebec and uses walnut oil.
