Mallard Point Trees

This 8 x 10" watercolour and gouache painting looks across the bow from near the Mallard Point entrance. This is a quiet entrance into the park, and the flood plain here is vast. Along the river are small groups of softwoods, and some of them have become their own gravestones. Photos can't quite describe the space, the blue of the sky, the snow trampled grass, and the trees. 

This painting is on Arches paper and mounted on a wood panel, finished in archival cold wax.
